My Collage Journal

Hello everyone,

I started a collage journal after watching some amazing art journal videos on Youtube. I have been having a great time playing around with various images from magazines. It's definitely a step outta my comfort zone but I'm glad I decided to start.

Here are some of my pages so far:

This is the very first page that I made. I used Dylusions Ink on the background and gesso through a Dylusions flower stencil. I attached the big pink flower poofy thing to the girl's head with some ribbon to hide the seam.

2nd page is a girl in a yoga pose with a one-eyed sunflower face. The background was originally green and yellow but I thought that it clashed too much with my image so I gessoed it. I wasn't too happy with it honestly but after stencils and stamps I kinda liked it a little better.

3rd page of my journal. The girl is made up of a different head, body and legs. I used pink Dylusions on the background and used a star stencil from Simon Says Stamp with Distress Ink and a blender. She's sitting on a "chair" made of lipsticks.

Tag using Dylusions tinted gesso

Hi,
I created this tag yesterday using a digistamp called Wizard of Oz Glinda from The Octopode Factory.

She is coloured with Prismacolour markers and I gave her some sparkle with a Wink of Stella clear pen on her crown.

The bubbles are my favourite part though. I tinted white gesso with Dylusions spray ink in Bubblegum Pink and got this pretty pastel pink color which I brushed thru a stencil. After drying that with my heat gun I sprayed Black Dylusions spray over it and the pink/gesso did a really good job of resisting.
Ink spray over gesso is my go to technique for stenciled backgrounds. I just love the look and texture.

It took me a few tries to come up with a quote I liked. This is a quote from the movie and I think it could work well as a birthday tag. I used a $1 alphabet set from Michaels in Hero Arts Neon pink ink on the letters.

Hi everyone

Hi, welcome to my crafty blog.
My love of rubber stamps has led me to my current hobby of paper crafting. I make greeting cards and gift tags, but also love working in my mixed media art journals. I can't wait to share them with you.

A few examples of cards I have made:

This friend card features adorable giraffes from the Paper Smooches stamp set called Zoo Crew. I love these goofy guys.

This card features a digital stamp called Steampunk Lady Audrey from The Octopode Factory. Her dress is full of brights colours which I just love and I added a gem to one of her eyes. For the necklace on her head, I added a ball chain which I glued down with Glossy Accents.

This birthday tag features a Gorjuss Girl stamp. She's so adorable, just love her little bow.
